Harrisburg Area Tamil Sangam
Welcome to Harrisburg Area Tamil Sangam (HATS). HATS is a non-profit, tax-exempt (filed) organization dedicated to furthering Tamil culture, in Harrisburg and surrounding communities for more than 30 years. Our goal is to promote the understanding of our Tamil language, culture of Tamil Nadu, support for new Tamil families around this area, and provide community development, health awareness and charity. .

Tamil New Year Event
Dear HATS Members,
We are happy to inform you that, HATS is planning to organize a special program, to celebrate the occasion of our upcoming Tamil New year. Herewith provided are the abstract details/outline towards planning of this show.
Tentative Date/Time for the program: May 5th 2012 - From 4:30 to 7:30 pm
Upon finalization of the date, venue and programs, we would send out an official agenda and invite for the same! Your inputs are always appreciated.
List of planned programs:
1. Kids (6-12 age group) - Dance item/Medley
2. Ladies Dance/Medley (5-8 persons needed)
3. Men - Dance/Medley (4-6 persons needed)
4. Adults - Comedy skit/drama (6-8 persons needed)
This time, we are planning to introduce interesting game-shows to our program!
The planned game shows are:
5. 'Oru vaarthai oru parizu' - (Inspired by the Vijay TV show 'Oru Vaarthai Oru Laktcham')
We would teams consisting of two players each for this game. One of the team member can choose to provide the clues and the other would find the word. The rules are simple:
· Every clue needs to be only one word
· And only Tamil words
· Clue cannot contain a portion of syllable of the actual word itself.
6. 'Maathi yosi' (Inspired by Vijay TV show 'Athi Idhu Edhu')
This interesting and entertaining game has only ONE rule and that is never answer correctly to the questions. In other words, 'maathi yosi'! ;)

Parents of kid(s) who are interested in participating, and individuals interested in participating in any of the above mentioned elements of this show, please contact and let us know, at the latest by 30th March 2012, to facilitate adequate time for planning and practice towards the show.
